Aguali Hostel – Matagalpa 🇳🇮

I was recommended Aguali Hostel while staying in Esteli by a couple of other backpackers. They said it was a really beautiful space up above the city. They weren’t kidding.
Aquali is an old school that was closed after the 2018 protests and was taken over by the current owners.
It’s a really lovely spot with different options, including shared dorms, private rooms and family suites.
They host cooking classes, kids classes and more. Amazing wifi, a great shared kitchen, and some of the best views you could ever ask for. The staff were great, and it was just an amazing place to chill.

The climb up to Aguali is intense. Taxis can’t take you all the way, and depending on where they drop you off, can be a bit of a hike up a pretty steep hill. But, still worth it.
